As we are approaching the end of term 2, UCL Neuroscience Society is getting ready to elect its new committee for the 2020/2021 academic year!
If you enjoyed the events we organised this year and would like to get involved in London's largest student-led science society, there is a range of available positions!
How to apply:
Email your name, course and desired position(s) to our President: jade.serfaty.17@ucl.ac.uk
You can apply to more than one position!
Applicants will be required to give a 1 min speech on why they would be good for the position.
Available positions:
President: The President is responsible for managing, representing and leading the Society. It is an incredibly rewarding role, which involves not only particular access to all speakers and public speaking experience, but also a high status amongst UCL Neuroscience Staff. Our Presidents have had a tradition of being selected to the most competitive graduate programmes in the UK and abroad.
Vice-President: The VP assists the President in his agenda and management, and very often is the source of knowledge in the Society, providing scientific advice on the content delivered by the Society. A particularly esteemed position, which very often boosts a future academic career.
Treasurer: The Treasurer is responsible for maintaining a stable budget and managing expenses. A role for someone who intends on shaping the society, while benefiting from holding a role of financial responsibility.
Academic Events Officers (3 positions) - AEOs are the cornerstone of the society. This role involves preparation, conceptualisation, management and manning the Academic Curriculum: events, lectures and speakers offered by the Society. AEOs usually end up being future Presidents and Vice-Presidents of the Society.
Social Secretary: Social Sec is responsible for all the fun at UCL Neurosoc. Plain and simple, this person organises all the post-event drinks and a range of other social events!
Media Officer: Media Officer is responsible for managing the UCL Neurosoc Facebook Page(5k likes), selecting and sharing the recent news from the world of neuroscience. This person will be keen on all the latest amazing research findings and will not be able to wait to share it with our member audience!
Communications Officer: This position will involve managing the mailing list and contacting UCL NPP Department about sharing out events (in the form of direct emails) throughout the entire Division of Biosciences.
Head of Design: This is an opportunity for anyone with design skills to create all of the posters, t-shirts and roll-ups!
Webmaster: The webmaster manages and maintains the UCLNeurosoc.com website as well as the membership payment account. It is a simple position not requiring major time commitment, yet essential for the Society.
Photographer: Professional photography of all of our events!
Make sure you have purchased membership (£5) on our website (http://www.uclneurosoc.com/join-us) and even if you are not running for any positions, come along to vote (and for some free snacks)!
