Who we are
We are a group of UCL students dedicated to learning and sharing our knowledge of neuroscience with others, looking for individuals with similar interests to join our society. Our university has a rich history in neuroscience research, producing numerous Nobel Laureates (most recently Professor John O'Keefe) and Brain Prize winners. UCL is also frequently ranked amongst the best for neuroscience worldwide.
What we do
The frontiers of brain sciences are brought to the public in an accessible form as we host the best minds of neuroscience from the UK and abroad in a range of talks and panel discussions.
Our evening journal clubs allow researchers and students to discuss recent publications and neuroscience theories. They're a great opportunity to learn about groundbreaking new research and develop presentation skills.
Our workshops and tutorials are designed to give comprehensive advice on modules and exam techniques. We also seek to connect students with potential internship providers, graduate and PhD admissions officers, and employers in industry.
To better foster a greater sense of community amongst our members, we strive to make (and promptly forget) amazing nights out. From free pizza and wine, to pub crawls and afternoon coffees, we have it all.
Having hosted an art exhibition and auction, raising awareness for Mental Health Brain Awareness Week and over £2000 for the mental health charity SANE, we are dedicated to promoting great causes and giving back to the community.
The LSNeuroN is a collaboration between the neuroscience societies of UCL, Imperial, King's, St George's and Queen Mary's that seeks to hold joint events and encourage interaction between our students.
