Three of the first psychiatrists to prescribe psychedelics in the modern era, including MDMA and psilocybin, speak about their work and the state of psychedelic research today.
In a unique collaboration between UCL Society for the Application for Psychedelics (UCL SAP), UCL Neuroscience Society and UCLU Medical Society, we are excited to announce a comprehensive discussion of the field of psychedelics, from their controversial history to the resurgent interest in their therapeutic potential.
We are joined by three of the first psychiatrists in the UK to prescribe psychedelics in over 40 years for mental health conditions. This includes MDMA and psilocybin, the active agent in ‘magic mushrooms’, for PTSD and depression, respectively.
Following remarkably positive results, Dr James Rucker, Dr Oliver Bashford and Dr Ben Sessa have been invited to discuss their current work and the future of psychedelic research.
In celebration of the official launch of UCL SAP, this is a FREE event open to all - students and non-students alike. Ticket will be released on SUNDAY the 22nd.
