The UCL Neuroscience Society is excited to announce our first talk of the year - Drugs & You: Cannabis!
Following the groundbreaking news of the UK Government acknowledging that cannabis has a medicinal effect, Professor Valerie Curran, Director of the UCL Clinical Psychopharmacology Unit, and representatives from Drugsand.me will be present to discuss a range of matters related to recreational drugs - cannabis and more!
UCL Professor of Psychopharmacology, Valerie Curran, will delve into her research on the neurobiological, cognitive and emotional factors in substance use disorders, particularly of cannabis, and the development of novel treatments for addictions.
Drugsand.me, an educational website on current harm reduction methods for drug use, will discuss the historical relationship of drugs with different cultures, discrepancies between scientific knowledge and legalisation, and their overall company story and values.
As our first introductory event, entry is FREE for all students. Doors will open at 6:55pm. Members will be given priority access 10 minutes prior. Be sure to arrive early as space is limited and this is sure to be a popular event!
Refreshments will be provided. We look forward to seeing you soon!
